[tip] Changes to the MailPolice RHS blacklist
mxORB 2.0 and 2.1 are configured by default to use the bulk and porn RHS blacklists from MailPolice. MailPolice have now introduced a single consolidated blacklist that includes information from both of these lists, along with a new fraud blacklist.
Configuring mxORB to use this new blacklist will reduce the number of DNS queries required, improving performance and reducing network usage.
Note: mxORB 2.2 users who have not upgraded from a previous version of mxORB do not need to make any changes to their settings.
To use the new MailPolice RHS blacklist, follow the steps below:
- Open the Configuration tool and double click on the Internet Blacklists icon
- On the RHS Blacklists tab click Add
- On the Blacklist tab enter MailPolice as the Name,block.rhs.mailpolice.com as Domain and ensure the Enabled checkbox is checked
- On the Return Addresses tab, select Match specified return addresses and click Add
- Enter 127.0.0.2 as the IP address, Verified spam source as the Description and ensure the Enabled checkbox is checked
- Click OK to add the return address, then click OK to add the RHS blacklist
- If you have the MailPolice Bulk Sender or MailPolice Pornographic RHS blacklists configured you should either disable them (this allows you to keep the statistics for these blacklists) or remove them:
- To disable the blacklist, ensure it is selected, click Edit, uncheck the Enabled checkbox and click OK to save the changes
- To remove the blacklist, ensure it is selected, click Remove and then click Yes to confirm the removal
- Click OK to save the changes to the Internet blacklists
