[problem] Regular expressions are converted to lower case

mxORB 2.2.1 and earlier incorrectly convert regular expressions to lower case.

Cause

An error in the mxORB settings load and save functionality causes regular expressions in the whitelist, blacklist and attachment filters to be converted to lower case.

For example:

• A new whitelist entry is created as: ^\S+@domain\.com$
• mxORB incorrectly converts this to: ^\s+@domain\.com$
• Because \S has a different meaning to \s in a regular expression, mxORB does not process the entry as expected

Resolution

This problem has been fixed in mxORB 2.2.2. For more information on this updated version of mxORB see news article: mxORB 2.2.2 update now available.
