mxORB

mxORB spamware update now available

Version 1.2 of the mxORB spamware filter, including 50 new Message-ID header filters, is now available for download. Note: This update can only be applied to mxORB 2.2, 2.2.1, 2.2.2 and 2.2.3 installations. If you are using an older version of mxORB you must upgrade before installing this update.

Enabling these filters can significantly reduce spam however they may also filter legitimate messages (from our own testing only 1% - 2% of messages processed are incorrectly filtered).

To install the update follow the steps below. Note that the upgrade will involve a short period of downtime for your mail server and may possibly require a reboot.

1. Log-on as Administrator on the server where mxORB is installed
2. Download the spamware plugin filter update setup program here
3. Stop the SMTP service (see [faq] How do I stop the SMTP service? for more information)
4. Ensure the mxORB configuration tool is not running
5. Run the setup program downloaded in step 2 and follow the on-screen prompts
6. Allow the setup program to restart your server if necessary
7. Start the SMTP service (see [faq] How do I start the SMTP service? for more information)
